Nomadic design uses natural materials and traditional craftsmanship. Our designs are simple and honour the nature and spirit of the wood.

Simple design, quiet form.” -Yusuke Tazawa

Nomadic living

We all used to be wanderers roaming the world, nomads who carried our possessions on our backs. The pace of the world was slow, time was honoured and precious and each day was about using the skills you had to survive, to forage, gather, hunt, to create. Nomadic living was what many of our ancestors did as a means of survival. Free to roam and go as they please they were adaptable, self-sufficient, innovative, resilient and had a symbiotic relationship with nature. These values are something that I take into my furniture making.

As a craftsman I am aware that a lot of what we buy today is designed to last for a limited lifetime. Nomadic design stands for furniture that is made to last from sustainable, recyclable and natural materials which can be put back into the Earth if needs be. By creating sustainable furniture we produce a more durable long-lasting product. Each piece of furniture is carefully thought out spiritually, financially and environmentally. From the harvesting of the raw materials to the longevity of the product. Storage, packaging and transport is considered and its effect on the business and customer.

Sustainability

Nomadic design has a minimal clean approach to design that combines functionality simplicity, and craftsmanship. Our designs honour the wood itself. Seeking inspiration from nature, simple lines and spaces devoid of clutter.

Design

Our designs honour the wood itself. By choosing Nomadic design you help to support smaller furniture makers in the process.
